FAQ
The stuff most people want to know before reaching out.
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
If you’re asking that question, it’s probably worth exploring. You don’t have to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. Many of my clients come in feeling stuck, disconnected, overwhelmed, or unsure how to move forward. You don’t need a perfect explanation for why you’re here — just a willingness to start.
What can I expect in our first session?
Our first session is a conversation. I’ll ask questions to understand your history, what’s bringing you in, and what you want to change. You can also ask me questions. There’s no pressure to share everything immediately. We move at a pace that feels productive but safe.
How long does therapy take?
That depends entirely on you and what you’re working through. Some clients come for a focused period to address a specific issue and wrap up in a few months. Others engage in longer-term work as they peel back deeper layers. I’m not interested in keeping you in therapy forever. My goal is to help you build the tools and resilience you need to handle life on your own. We’ll check in on your progress regularly and adjust the plan as needed.
Do you offer in person sessions?
Yes, I offer both virtual and in person services, based on your preference.
Do you take insurance?
Yes. I currently am in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Health Care, and Aetna. If you have questions about coverage with your specific insurance please reach out.
If I am out-of-network, I can provide a superbill upon request that you may submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. I recommend contacting your insurance provider directly to understand your out-of-network mental health benefits.
If you’d like help determining whether using insurance or private pay makes the most sense for you, we can talk through that.
How much does therapy cost?
My fee for private pay individual therapy is $150 per 50-minute session. My fee for private pay couples/family sessions is $175 per 50-minute session.
Payment is due at the time of service. I accept most major credit cards.
If you have questions about fees, I’m happy to discuss them during your consultation.
How do I get started?
The first step is reaching out. You can contact me to schedule a consultation, ask questions, or book your first session. You don’t have to feel fully ready — you just have to be willing to take the next step.
